What is Spatial Audio?
Spatial Audio gives artists the opportunity to create immersive audio experiences for their fans with true multidimensional sound and clarity. The technology signals and applies directional audio filters, which adjust the frequencies in each ear. This creates the experience of sounds that can appear virtually anywhere in 3D space. The idea is to recreate the audio experience of a cinema, as sounds appear in front of you, from the sides, the rear and even above.

How to use Spatial Audio?
You can enjoy this new feature on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV 4K.
iPhone and iPad
1. Update your iPhone or iPad iOS to iPadOS 14.6.
2. Select Settings.
3. Go to Music.
4. Under audio, tap Dolby Atmos.
5. Choose Automatic, Always on, or turn Dolby Atmos off.
Mac
1. Update your Mac to macOS 11.4.
2. Open the Apple Music App.
3. In the menu bar, select Music > Preferences.
4. Choose the playback tab.
5. Click Automatic, Always on, or turn Dolby Atmos off.
Apple TV 4K
1. Update your Apple TV 4K to tvOS 14.6 and make sure you have one of the following connections:

1. Update your iPhone or iPad iOS to iPadOS 14.6.
2. Select Settings.

- HomePod speakers set up as the default speakers.
- A Dolby Atmos compatible sound bar, Dolby Atmos enabled AV Receiver or television that supports Dolby Atmos audio.
- AirPods, AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.
- BeatsX, Beats Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio3, Powerbeats3 Wireless, Beats Flex, Powerbeats Pro or Beats Solo Pro.
2. Turn Dolby Atmos on or off:
- On your Apple TV, go to Settings > Apps.
- Select Music.
- Select Dolby Atmos to change it to Automatic or off.
